Destin Florida Beach Proposal

Chloë and I were curled up on the cozy leather chairs in the corner of Black Rock Coffee Bar in Phoenix, sipping coffee while dreaming about summer plans. We talked about how much fun it would be if she and her boyfriend, Jacob, could visit us in Florida that summer during our extended work trip. I’ll never forget during our conversation, giggling together… when suddenly Chloë sat straight up and wide-eyed said, “It would be so PERFECT if Jacob proposed on the beach while we’re there!” This was no more than a fun, fleeting thought in Chloë’s mind, but little did she know her inspiration would set in motion a plan for a BEAUTIFUL surprise proposal on the white sands of Destin!

I told Jacob about her spontaneous idea and a few weeks later he wasted no time in buying the most gorgeous ring! Chloë bought the plane tickets and before we knew it they were on their way to visit us in Florida! By coincidence my parent’s were visiting that same weekend. They were staying right on the beach and just happened to have two extra rooms, so they invited Chloë and Jacob to stay with them. I’m so thankful God worked that out, because it would have been quite crammed in our little hotel room with all four of us.

Relaxing beach days, bobbing around in the gulf, lounging on the shore. Oh my goodness, it was such a perfect weekend! On Saturday evening the four of us got dressed up and decided to walk to a restaurant for dinner. We took a little detour on the way, soaking up the view of the emerald coast and white sand. Hand in hand, Jacob discretely put some distance between us while he guided Chloë to a champagne picnic sprinkled with rose petals. As they approached the scene, and the wheels in Chloë’s head started whirling, Jacob said, “Well Chlo, I think this is going to be a day you remember forever.”

Chloë and Jacob, it’s so easy to celebrate you two! Your relationship is a beautiful example of what it looks like to put God above ALL. Thank you for always encouraging me and Joel in our walk with the Lord. We feel so blessed to have you as our family AND our best friends. You two mean so much to us and we’ll always cherish this weekend we got to share with you in Destin, the trip where Chlo left with a boyfriend and came back with a fiancé! We can’t wait to stand by your side when you say, “I Do” in May!
