It was such a joy to plan this beautiful bridal shower with Leah and Lauren for our sweet Chloë! It started with a FaceTime call to brainstorm the theme. Chloë chose Terracotta for our bridesmaid dresses so that provided a good starting point for bridal shower planning! We liked the idea of incorporating some boho & modern elements, but wanted the overall feel to remain timeless and elegant.
Last year, Chloë specifically requested that her bridal shower be in Aunt Maria’s back yard. Countless memories from Easters, Thanksgivings and family celebrations have been cherished in this backyard. It feels familiar and welcoming and with a little extra love and care from Aunt Maria, Uncle David & Lauren, the yard and house were ready for Chloë’s bridal shower!
This event was definitely a group effort! I found a pretty invitation on Etsy that checked all the boxes, it was an elegantly modern boho style. My husband, Joel, helped us pull in a modern element by making the hexagon arbor. Trader Joe’s came in clutch with the eucalyptus branches and florals that we used to decorate the arbor. Leah had the brilliant idea to use gold candle sticks and candles to elevate the space. The natural basket weave rugs and pampas grass added a bit of that boho feel without attracting too much attention, also Leah’s idea! The day before the bridal shower we went to pick up some goods from Trader Joe’s, Sprouts and Costco. Luckily we have a charcuterie expert in our family! Lauren made sure we got all the right foods for a perfect charcuterie spread. Ramey, AnnaMei and Alissa skillfully arranged the boards the day of the shower and they looked as good as they tasted!
When Chloë arrived we all stopped in our tracks, she looked stunning!! Her sandy blonde hair tumbled down her back just like a waterfall. (I may or may not have just quoted a Vance Joy song ;)) She was wearing a beautiful white satin floral dress and the cutest heels. After we took photos with her, Leah prayed over the food and we all enjoyed some cheese & crackers and delicious bruschetta from Postino Wine Cafe. My favorite cheese on the board was, of course, the Petite Breakfast Brie Cheese by the Marin French Cheese Company. The crowd favorite was TJ’s Fig Butter, mmmmm! The Lemon Bundt Cake from Nothing Bundt cakes was also an absolute hit. Seriously, if you’ve never tried one of their cakes before, find an excuse to go buy one because they’re SO good! After we played a couple of fun trivia games, Chloë opened gifts and it was touching to watch her soak up all the love. She was glowing the whole night!! For the perfect ending to the perfect night we all gathered around Chloë and prayed over her as she enters this sweet new season of life.
